Speaking on Saturday, Trump said the United States Armed Forces are reviewing additional targets inside Iran and are prepared to launch further military action if necessary.
The US president also claimed American forces had already dealt a significant blow to Iranian capabilities, stating that US operations had “knocked out 42 Iranian navy ships.”
Smoke was seen rising over parts of Tehran following reported airstrikes, although details about the scale of damage and casualties remain unclear.
The warning from Washington came as Iran attempted to calm regional tensions. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian apologised to neighbouring Gulf states after attacks that have rattled the region and raised concerns about the safety of shipping routes and energy infrastructure.
The latest developments mark another sharp turn in the long-running confrontation between Washington and Tehran, with both sides trading threats while diplomatic efforts struggle to contain the crisis.
Military analysts say the coming hours could prove critical as the US weighs whether to expand its strikes or seek a diplomatic off-ramp to prevent a broader conflict across the Middle East.
