Massive Explosions Rock Tehran as Iran Vows Defiance in Escalating War with US and Israel

Residents of Tehran woke up to the sound of massive explosions early Friday as the conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel entered its second week with no sign of easing.

The overnight blasts were reported across several parts of the Iranian capital, sending shockwaves through neighbourhoods and raising fears among residents as tensions continue to escalate across the region.

Witnesses said multiple explosions were heard in different districts of Tehran, though the full extent of the damage was not immediately clear.

Amid the escalating conflict, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed that the country would not surrender despite increasing pressure from Washington.

In remarks carried by state media, Pezeshkian said Iran would continue to defend its sovereignty and resist foreign demands.

His comments came after Donald Trump, president of the United States, called on Tehran to accept what he described as “unconditional surrender,” as military exchanges between the opposing sides continued.

The ongoing hostilities have heightened concerns that the conflict could spread further across the Middle East if diplomatic efforts fail to contain the crisis.
