Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto has categorically denied allegations of criminal sexual misconduct after reporter investigation featured accounts from 10 women, including four who accused him of offences allegedly committed when they were teenagers.
The investigation alleges that the incidents occurred between 2002 and 2016, when Leto was in his 30s and 40s. The women claim the actor and frontman of Thirty Seconds to Mars exploited his celebrity status to pursue inappropriate relationships with underage or vulnerable young women.
Among the allegations, one woman said she was sexually assaulted in a motel bathroom at the age of 17, while another claimed Leto threatened her with sexual assault after she was left alone with him in a hotel room when she was 19.
A third woman alleged she had sexual relations with Leto in California when she was 17, an act that could constitute statutory rape under California law, while a fourth accused him of grooming her through repeated sexually explicit phone calls when she was 16 before allegedly attempting to have her sign a non-disclosure agreement, which she said she refused.
Several other women interviewed claimed they also received sexually explicit phone calls from Leto while they were teenagers, and one alleged he made inappropriate sexual comments to her when she was 14 before asking a security guard to take her backstage at a concert.
The report said it corroborated aspects of the women’s accounts through messages, photographs and interviews with friends, relatives and former members of Leto’s touring team. Two former crew members also claimed staff had expressed discomfort over what they described as the musician’s interactions with teenage girls, including invitations backstage and to private residences.
Leto did not respond to journalists before publication of the investigation. However, after the report was released, his representatives issued a statement on his behalf rejecting all the allegations.
“I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false,” the statement said.
The allegations add to previous accusations made against the actor in recent years. In 2025, several women made similar claims in a separate media investigation, all of which Leto also denied.
Leto, 54, is an Academy Award-winning actor known for films including Dallas Buyers Club, Fight Club, Blade Runner 2049 and Suicide Squad. He also fronts the rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars, which is scheduled to tour Europe and the United Kingdom next year.
No criminal charges have been announced in relation to the allegations, and Leto has denied any wrongdoing.
