Seun Kuti has shared a revealing personal account about his childhood experience visiting his father, Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, during his period of detention, shedding light on the emotional and political realities surrounding the family at the time.
On 24 April 2026, in a recent interview clip that has gone viral online, Seun explained how his mother once sent him to deliver food to Fela at a police detention facility, without disclosing sensitive details about the item concealed inside.
The Afrobeat musician said he was too young to understand the situation and only discovered the truth much later from family members after the visit.
