The Nwobi Political Dynasty, in collaboration with the Fontana Group and the Awgu Business Community, has restated its firm support for Anayo Onwuegbu, urging residents of Greater Awgu to remain vigilant against what it described as misleading narratives and politically motivated attacks.
In a statement issued by its Media Aide, Joe Udefi, the group expressed concern over a series of voice notes and online publications allegedly designed to tarnish the image of the lawmaker.
According to the statement, these materials are “unfounded, mischievous, and deliberately crafted to misinform the public and undermine credible leadership.”
The group noted that while it would ordinarily ignore such claims, the persistence and spread of the allegations made it necessary to respond in order to set the record straight and protect the integrity of both Rep. Onwuegbu and the Nwobi Political Dynasty.
Reaffirming its confidence in the lawmaker, the group described him as a committed and result-driven representative who has consistently demonstrated leadership, capacity, and dedication to the development of Greater Awgu.
It highlighted several achievements attributed to his intervention, including sustained engagement with the Federal Government on infrastructural challenges affecting the constituency.
Among the projects cited were the revitalisation of healthcare services at Achi Hospital and the construction of six classroom blocks at Boys Secondary School, Awgu.
The statement also pointed to ongoing educational support initiatives, particularly the award of scholarships to students pursuing NCE and PGDE programmes, as evidence of his commitment to human capital development.
The group further praised the role of Francis Osita Nwobi, a High Chief and prominent figure within the dynasty, noting his contributions as Chief Executive Officer of Fontana Hotels and Fontana Oil & Gas. It described his leadership as instrumental in fostering community development and strengthening the socio-economic fabric of the region through philanthropy and enterprise.
While commending Rep. Onwuegbu’s efforts, the statement issued a stern warning to individuals and groups accused of spreading falsehoods.
It cautioned those it described as “wolves in sheep’s clothing” and “political attention seekers” to desist from what it termed character assassination and divisive propaganda.
“Legal action would be taken against any individual or group that continues to disseminate false and damaging information if they do not desist from such despicable acts,” the statement warned, stressing that the rule of law would be fully invoked to protect reputations and ensure accountability.
The Nwobi Political Dynasty concluded by urging the people of Greater Awgu to remain focused on progress and not be distracted by misinformation, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable development and collective advancement.
“Our future is Green,” the statement declared.
