Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Kogi Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Her nomination was confirmed in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by her Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mike Idoko.

According to the statement, the selection process was carried out through an affirmation exercise held simultaneously across all 57 wards in the senatorial district.

The exercise was later concluded with a final collation of results at Kahal Cinema in Okene, where party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and observers gathered to witness the outcome.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission and members of the media were reportedly present to monitor the process and ensure transparency and compliance with electoral guidelines.

Following the announcement, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed appreciation to party members for their support, describing the outcome as a strong indication of unity and confidence in her leadership.

She said the turnout across the 57 wards reflected the people’s commitment to democratic participation and grassroots mobilisation.

The senator also pledged to continue prioritising development-focused representation, promising to deepen engagement with communities across Kogi Central if re-elected in the forthcoming elections.
