“It Was Blue Sweet Candy” – Reps Member Debunks Drug Addict Rumour

By Paul Joseph

A member of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has dismissed allegations circulating on social media suggesting he was taking drugs during a recent public appearance.

Doguwa, who represents the Tudun Wada/Doguwa Federal Constituency of Kano State under the All Progressives Congress, described the claims as false and politically motivated.

Reacting to the rumours, the lawmaker stated that what was seen in his mouth was merely a piece of blue candy and not any form of drug or prohibited substance.

“The claim that I was taking drugs or pills is nothing but the work of the devil and my political enemies. What was actually in my mouth was just sweet blue candy,” he said.

The allegations had sparked conversations online after a video clip involving the lawmaker began circulating across social media platforms, leading to speculation about his conduct.

However, Doguwa insisted that the accusations were part of attempts to tarnish his image and mislead the public.

The federal lawmaker remains one of the prominent political figures from Kano State and has served multiple terms in Nigeria’s lower legislative chamber.
