…and Go For a DNA Test For Your children.
Waking up to the controversy surrounding Nigerian media personality Frank Edoho, his ex-wife Sandra Edoho and singer Chike has dragged us into another long week and weekend of drama in the Nigerian entertainment and social media space.
Like we say in Nigeria, one week, one drama. This weekend, we are obviously getting premium entertainment from media personality Frank Edoho, his ex-wife Sandra, and Nigerian singer Chike.
For those of you who do not know Chike, he is the guy who has a song with late MohBad and also has an album called Boo of the Booless.
Chike is not only a fine singer, he is also a very fine young man, rich and famous. Many would say, “who no like better thing?” But for me, I no want this kind “better thing” wey dey bring shame to my marriage.
This controversy has continued to dominate conversations across social media and has once again exposed the deep divide in public reactions to infidelity, marriage and gender expectations in Nigeria.
For days, social media platforms have been awash with heated debates following allegations linking Chike, the “Running To You” hitmaker, to Sandra Edoho, the former wife of Frank Edoho.
Honestly, I am not angry about this whole cheating shenanigan. After all, this is not the first report in the industry and it certainly will not be the last.
What worries and scares me is today’s Nigerian women — wives and intending wives.
The way some of my gender defend cheating these days calls for serious concern. Maybe somebody should call on the government to set up a 50-man panel to intervene in this matter because e dey really become unbecoming.
See, like I said earlier, I am not too bothered about this whole thing. My concern and shock is the reaction it has generated. A large section of social media users, particularly women, appeared to celebrate or trivialise the alleged affair, with some describing Sandra’s reported actions as “freedom”, “revenge” or “living her best life”.
I even saw a comment on Chike’s page where a married woman said, “Dear Chike, my husband has not been talking to me, please come and help me.”
Well, she said this because Frank Edoho’s ex-wife reportedly claimed he used to keep malice whenever they had issues, which many people now believe may have pushed her to seek comfort elsewhere.
But I ask: if the roles were reversed and Frank Edoho had been accused of cheating with a younger woman during the marriage, would social media still react with this same level of calmness, jokes and defence? Your guess is as good as mine.
Funny enough, instead of some women condemning this shameful alleged affair involving Sandra and Chike, they are applauding her and turning the whole shameless act into entertainment, memes and even admiration in some online spaces.
The situation has also reignited conversations about how men experience emotional pain, betrayal and public humiliation in relationships. Across several platforms, some men expressed frustration over what they perceive as society’s unwillingness to sympathise with husbands dealing with infidelity.
To many, the issue goes beyond celebrity gossip. It touches on trust, loyalty, family values and the growing influence of social media culture on relationships.
One viral comment even claimed that a young Nigerian man allegedly cancelled his wedding plans after seeing his fiancée defending the alleged relationship online.
Supporters of Frank Edoho insist that no spouse — man or woman — deserves betrayal, especially when it becomes a source of public amusement. They argue that cheating should be condemned regardless of gender and that celebrating infidelity simply because the accused is a woman sends the wrong message about commitment and accountability in relationships.
As a man, if you find your partner supporting this shambolic act allegedly involving Chike and a married woman, dump her and go for a DNA test for your kid(s).
Married woman dey cheat and your girlfriend dey praise em, later you will say you didn’t see the sign? Bros see you see high blood pressure.
The Bible says, “From the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” I can categorically tell you that any woman who supports this rubbish is capable of doing same, or even giving her partner another man’s child. Yes na me talk em!!!
No wonder e don easy these days for some women to rope another man pikin give their partners.
My mum would always say, “Na only woman fit truly tell who be the real father of her children.”
Remember the case of Nedu Wazobia whose marriage also reportedly ended because of infidelity allegations, and at the end, his then-wife allegedly accused him of merely assuming the child she was carrying was his.
If this is not wickedness from women towards men, I do not know what else to call it.
So my dear Nigerian men, keep your eyes wide open on social media. Check how your partner is reacting to this Chike and Edoho family saga and draw your conclusions from there. Also take care of yourselves and chop life because some of you are married to a “Sandra” while thinking you are married to an Omotola Jalade Ekeinde.
