Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, has revealed that the family of ailing actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has received more than 500 offers from people claiming they could help treat his condition through spiritual or alternative means.
Kosoko, however, said the family had been unable to take Ogogo to the various people offering such assistance because of his current medical condition and the difficulty involved in moving him.
He made this known in a statement posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday while appealing to fans, colleagues and other well-wishers to continue supporting the actor with prayers.
“We have received offers from more than 300, and even over 500 people, each sincerely believing that they have something that could help him,” Kosoko stated.
“The challenge is simply: Where do we take him to? And how do we move him from the hospital while he is receiving care?”
The veteran actor was responding to the numerous offers from individuals who believe they have spiritual, traditional or specialised treatments that could assist Ogogo.
He appealed to such individuals not to interpret the family’s inability to bring the actor to them as a rejection of their goodwill.
“Please, do not feel offended or disappointed if we are unable to bring Ogogo to you for spiritual assistance or treatment,” he said.
Kosoko explained that moving Ogogo from one location to another for different forms of treatment would be particularly difficult at this stage, considering the number of people who had offered to help.
He also stressed that the family appreciated the concern shown by members of the public.
“Please understand that our inability to bring him to anyone does not mean that we do not appreciate you, nor does it mean that we doubt your intentions or your desire to help,” he added.
“On the contrary, we are deeply touched by the overwhelming love and concern that people across the world have shown towards him.”
Kosoko urged those willing to assist to continue doing so from their respective locations, particularly by praying for the actor.
“Therefore, we encourage you to continue doing whatever you can from your respective locations and comfort zones. Keep praying. Keep supporting us. Keep believing with us,” he said.
