Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has warned President Bola Tinubu that he would seek the intervention of United States President Donald Trump if anything goes wrong during the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election.

Davido made the remark during a live session with comedian Carter Efe while expressing concerns about the conduct of the forthcoming poll.

The singer, who has been actively campaigning for his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, urged that the election be free, fair and credible, stressing that the people of Osun should be allowed to decide their leader without interference.

“I’ll involve Trump if anything goes wrong,” Davido said, directing the warning at President Tinubu.

The comment comes amid heightened political tension in Osun State ahead of the governorship election, with major political parties exchanging accusations over alleged plans to influence the outcome of the poll.
