US President Donald Trump has declared that the United States has taken “total control” of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, claiming that Iran is no longer capable of challenging the American naval presence in the region.

Trump made the declaration in a post on his social media platform Wednesday, where he described the reported US naval blockade of the waterway as a “wall of steel” and said Washington intended to maintain control of the strategic passage.

“The U.S.A. has total control over the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump wrote, adding that the American naval blockade was being described as a “wall of steel.”

He further claimed that Iran lacked the military capability to confront the United States, alleging that the country had no effective navy or air force and that its remaining troops were unpaid.

Trump also claimed that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had been severely weakened and was fleeing, while describing the country’s leadership as uncertain.

According to the US president, Iran was facing severe economic difficulties, including what he described as “300% inflation,” and had been reduced to what he called “all talk and no action.”

Trump’s remarks come amid heightened tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important maritime routes and a critical passage for global energy supplies.

The waterway connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, making developments around it a major concern for international energy markets and global shipping.

Trump also used his statement to declare that Iran could no longer be regarded as the dominant regional power, describing it as “the Bully of the Middle East No Longer.”

His comments are likely to further intensify the already tense confrontation between Washington and Tehran, particularly over control of the strategic waterway.

Trump ended his statement with a religious reference, writing: “Praise be to Allah!” before signing off as “President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
