Iran has defended its latest proposal to the United States after Washington reportedly rejected the offer as unacceptable, insisting that Tehran’s position was both “reasonable and generous.”
Speaking on Monday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, said the Islamic Republic remained committed to regional stability and accused the United States of pushing one-sided demands during ongoing tensions between both countries.
“The Islamic Republic has proven that it is a responsible power in the region. We are not bullies; we stand against bullies,” Baghaei said.
According to him, Iran’s proposal included calls for an end to the ongoing conflict, the lifting of the US blockade, and the release of Iranian frozen assets held abroad.
Baghaei also said Tehran demanded guarantees for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz as well as broader regional security measures.
He accused Washington of refusing to compromise and continuing to insist on what he described as “unreasonable” demands.
The latest exchange highlights growing diplomatic tensions between Tehran and Washington amid ongoing disputes over sanctions, regional security, and military activities in the Middle East.
