Nigerian social media influencer D English Alahji has alleged that suspected bandits threatened to kill him during a WhatsApp video call over his online activities exposing criminal operations and supporting military action against armed groups.
According to the influencer, the callers warned him to stop sharing information about bandit movements and cease encouraging security forces and members of the public to support the elimination of armed criminals operating in parts of the country.
D English Alahji claimed the individuals threatened to track him down and kill him if he continued speaking publicly against them.
The development has sparked concern among his followers and social media users, particularly over how the suspected bandits allegedly obtained his private phone number.
The influencer questioned how the callers gained access to his contact details, insisting that his number is not publicly displayed on any of his social media platforms.
“Who leaked my number to the bandits?” he reportedly asked while expressing fears over his safety and possible compromise of personal information.
The incident has renewed concerns about the security risks faced by activists, influencers, and citizens who publicly speak against banditry and insecurity in Nigeria.
Bandit attacks, kidnappings, and violent assaults have continued to affect several northern communities despite ongoing military operations targeting criminal groups across the region.
Security analysts have repeatedly warned about the growing sophistication of armed groups, including their use of technology and social media monitoring to track targets and spread fear.
