President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday formally swore in Taiwo Oyedele as the Minister of State for Finance, strengthening the leadership team responsible for Nigeria’s economic and fiscal policies.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, with the President administering the oath of office in the presence of senior government officials and economic stakeholders.
Oyedele, a renowned tax expert and chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting the federal government’s ongoing fiscal and economic reforms. His appointment aligns with efforts to improve revenue generation, streamline tax policies, and strengthen public finance management across the country.
In his new capacity, Oyedele will collaborate closely with key economic agencies to implement policies aimed at: boosting government revenue, expanding the national tax base and enhancing transparency and accountability in fiscal operations.
