Sowore Leads ‘Tinubu Must Go’ Protest In Abuja

African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has led a protest in Abuja, with demonstrators calling for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to leave office.

Sowore was seen at the head of the demonstration on Tuesday as protesters marched through parts of the Federal Capital Territory, chanting, “Tinubu must go.”

The protesters also carried placards displaying images of President Tinubu alongside messages demanding his removal from office. The demonstration was captured in videos from the protest.

The action comes as Sowore continues his political activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election, in which he is expected to contest on the AAC platform.

The protest also comes amid Sowore’s ongoing legal battle with the Department of State Services (DSS) over social media posts he made in August 2025 concerning President Tinubu.

Sowore is facing allegations of cyberbullying arising from posts on X, formerly Twitter, and Facebook in which he referred to Tinubu as a “criminal” and made allegations concerning corruption under the administration.

The Federal High Court in Abuja is handling the case, with proceedings continuing in October. On October 2, the prosecution and defence were still at odds over whether the DSS Director-General, Oluwatosin Ajayi, should personally appear as a defence witness. Justice Mohammed Umar subsequently fixed October 6 for a ruling on the issue.

Sowore has remained a vocal critic of the Tinubu administration and has previously led or participated in protests over political and socioeconomic issues.
