Sowore Accuses Tinubu Government of Plotting to Kill Him

By Paul Joseph

African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has accused the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government of threatening his life, alleging that he has been a target of government hostility since he was 20 years old.

Sowore made the allegation on Friday while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he spoke about the attack on him in Ekiti State.

The activist also alleged that the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police knew the individuals responsible for the attack, claiming that the police chief visited him while he was receiving medical treatment.

According to Sowore, the circumstances surrounding the incident raised questions about the identities of the attackers and their alleged connections.

“The Commissioner of Police came to see us while we were being treated, so he knew the people who attacked us,” he said.

Sowore further recalled an incident in Port Harcourt, alleging that a tracking device had been placed under his vehicle and that the trail led to the Department of State Services (DSS).

He also linked his concerns to previous legal proceedings against him over his description of President Tinubu as a criminal.

“My life is at stake, and I have been a threat to the government since I was 20 years old,” he said.

The AAC presidential candidate accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of continuing a pattern of hostility towards him, recalling his previous confrontation with the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He maintained that the attack in Ekiti State was unprovoked and alleged that those behind it intended to harm him.

“The issue is that we were attacked unprovoked in Ekiti State. I have been a threat, and they want to kill me,” Sowore added.

His comments followed reports of an altercation at a restaurant in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, where he was reportedly attacked by some individuals.

Sowore’s allegations against the Federal Government and the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police had not been independently established in the account of the interview.
