Former lawmaker Dino Melaye has launched a scathing attack on the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), describing its recent actions as “satanic and wicked” amid the ongoing leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Reacting via his account on X, Melaye accused the APC of attempting to steer Nigeria toward a one-party system.
He argued that recent political developments, including movements involving Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and other key figures, would ultimately expose what he described as the ruling party’s “nefarious” agenda.
“The movement of Kwankwaso and others will reveal the nefarious, satanic and wicked characteristics of APC. They will do everything to turn Nigeria into a one-party state, but we no go gree. All die na die,” he wrote.
Melaye’s remarks follow a decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to suspend recognition of all factions within the ADC.
The commission also removed the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from its official records as National Chairman and National Secretary of the party, respectively. Additionally, INEC stated it would not recognise Nafiu Bala Gombe, who is seeking to assume leadership through legal means.
INEC further announced that it would refrain from monitoring any congresses or conventions organised by the rival factions until a final ruling is delivered by the Federal High Court.
The development has intensified political debate ahead of the 2027 general elections, with stakeholders closely watching how the ADC crisis and INEC’s response could shape the country’s evolving political landscape.
