The long-running feud within the Okoye family has taken another emotional turn, with singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, appearing to defend their late mother after his twin brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P), accused her of humiliating his wife, Lola Omotayo.
Rudeboy’s reaction followed the release of the eighth episode of Mr P’s tell-all video series detailing the bitter rift that has divided the once-celebrated P-Square music duo.
In a brief but emotional message shared on his social media pages on Friday, Rudeboy wrote: “Unfortunately, you’re not here to defend yourself. Continue resting, Mum.”
Although he did not directly address the allegations, the post was widely interpreted as a response to his brother’s claims about their late mother, Josephine Okoye.
In the latest episode of the series released on Thursday, Mr P recalled what he described as a painful family confrontation at his Omole residence shortly after his wife gave birth to their son.
According to him, his late mother requested to see Lola but unexpectedly insisted that she come alone without the baby. To persuade his wife, he said he falsely told her the house had just been fumigated.
Mr P alleged that when Lola arrived, a family meeting involving their mother, brothers Jude, Paul and Tony, alongside some pastors, was already underway.
He claimed neither he nor his wife was offered a seat, forcing them to sit on the floor throughout the meeting.
According to Mr P, the atmosphere became tense when their mother allegedly told Lola that the Okoye family had decided she should end her relationship with him.
He further alleged that his elder brother, Jude, also made a derogatory remark about his infant son, leaving Lola in tears before she was eventually escorted out of the house by the pastors present.
The singer also accused Jude and Rudeboy of opposing Lola’s pregnancy at the time, alleging that efforts were made to cast doubt on the paternity of their unborn child.
Mr P claimed that although their mother later accepted that the child was his and reportedly directed his brothers to apologise, the apology never came before her death.
Seeking to counter claims that Lola had a poor relationship with his mother, Mr P said his wife cared for the late matriarch during a prolonged illness, spending long hours with her in hospital and assisting with her daily care.
The latest revelations have further exposed the deep divisions within the Okoye family, whose internal disputes have repeatedly played out in public since the collapse of P-Square’s reunion.
Beyond family disagreements, the brothers have also been at odds over royalties, business management and ownership of joint assets.
In earlier episodes of the series, Mr P accused their elder brother, Jude, of financial misconduct, issuing threats against him and attempting to seize a jointly owned property in Atlanta.
Jude has denied several of the allegations, maintaining that many of the issues are already before the court.
Rudeboy, who has largely avoided commenting publicly on the family dispute, has continued to focus on his music career, with his management previously stating that he would not be drawn into public exchanges over private family matters.
