Report Indicates Six Soldiers, Four CJTF Members Killed in Borno ISWAP Assault

Reports suggest that at least six Nigerian Army soldiers and four members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have been killed in an attack by suspected fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno State.

The information was shared by Somto Okonkwo on his verified X account on Monday.

He stated that the attack took place in the early hours of Sunday, February 15, 2026, between midnight and 1 a.m. in the Mandara community, located in the Biu Local Government Area.

Okonkwo claimed that among the six soldiers killed were a Commanding Officer and an Adjutant, along with four CJTF members who also lost their lives in the incident.

He criticized authorities for not informing the public about the situation, asserting that the details he provided were accurate and could be corroborated.

As of this report, the Nigerian Army has not issued any official statement to confirm or deny the alleged attack.

In the same post, Okonkwo expressed concerns about another security issue in Kwara State, reporting that a community named Share in Ifelodun Local Government Area was under attack and urged security forces to act swiftly.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official confirmation from security agencies in Kwara State regarding the situation
