Nigerian comedy star Anita Asuoha, widely known as Real Warri Pikin, has added another international accolade to her growing collection after taking home the Best Stand-Up Comedian prize at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in Dallas, Texas.
The entertainer took to social media on Monday to celebrate the recognition, following the awards ceremony held on Saturday, September 12, at Annette Strauss Square.
“We won #afrimma Best Stand-up Comedian 2026,” she announced.
Real Warri Pikin emerged from a strong category featuring some of Africa’s most recognisable comedy names. Nigerian comedians Basketmouth, Bovi and Godfrey were among the contenders, while Kenya was represented by Eric Omondi and Ty Ngachira.
The list also included South Africa’s Trevor Noah and Ugandan comedy star Patrick “Salvado” Idringi.
The latest recognition further strengthens Real Warri Pikin’s standing within Africa’s entertainment industry, having successfully established herself across stand-up comedy, acting, digital content and live entertainment.
Her comic style, marked by high-energy delivery, personal experiences and Nigerian Pidgin, has become an important part of her identity and has helped her connect with audiences beyond Nigeria.
The 2026 AFRIMMA awards brought together entertainers from different parts of Africa and the diaspora, with this year’s edition marking the return of the ceremony after a two-year hiatus.
Held as part of the AFRIMMA festival programme in Dallas, the event also featured performances from prominent African music acts.
The award adds another international milestone to Real Warri Pikin’s career and further places Nigerian comedy in the spotlight on the African and global entertainment scene.
Her latest success demonstrates how Nigerian comedians continue to take indigenous expressions, everyday experiences and locally rooted humour to audiences far beyond the country.
