The Plateau State Government has imposed a 48-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area, effective from midnight on March 29 to April 1, 2026, following a deadly security incident.
The decision comes in the wake of an attack on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Gari Ya Waye community in Angwan Rukuba, which resulted in the loss of lives and left several others injured.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Lohya Ramnap, the state governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, strongly condemned the attack, describing it as barbaric and unprovoked.
The governor assured residents that security agencies have been mobilized and are taking all necessary steps to track down those responsible and bring them to justice.
The government also called on residents to remain calm, stay vigilant, and cooperate with security operatives by providing credible information to support ongoing investigations.
