Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation International (also known as Liberation City), has publicly withdrawn the apology he previously issued to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, insisting that he cannot apologise for allegations he claims are untrue while the matter is before a court of law.
The Lagos-based cleric made the clarification in a video statement that circulated widely online on Tuesday, March 4, 2026, addressing the controversy surrounding his earlier public apology and the legal dispute involving the actress. In the video, Okafor firmly stated that the apology he once offered should no longer be considered valid.
According to the pastor, the issue has now become a legal matter and he believes the appropriate place to determine the truth is in court. He maintained that he did not commit the allegations levelled against him and stressed that he would not accept responsibility for claims he insists are false.
The dispute between Okafor and Ogala stems from allegations relating to an alleged past relationship and claims of a broken marriage promise, which eventually escalated into legal action and public controversy.
Okafor emphasised that he has already submitted evidence to the court and urged anyone with contrary proof to present it through the legal process rather than through social media debates.
