The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has unveiled an ambitious education agenda ahead of the 2027 governorship election, pledging to reduce class sizes to a maximum of 30 pupils per classroom, provide free learning materials and significantly increase funding for public education if elected.

Alli made the pledge during his appearance on the Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) programme, “A Day with BSA,” held at the NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Monday, July 27, 2026. He said his administration would prioritise quality education by creating a more conducive learning environment, rehabilitating dilapidated school infrastructure and ensuring that every child has access to free, functional and quality education from the primary to secondary school level.

The APC flag bearer also promised to distribute free instructional materials to pupils, strengthen teacher development programmes and increase budgetary allocations to the education sector to improve teaching standards and learning outcomes across the state.

According to him, investment in education remains the most effective strategy for empowering young people and driving long-term socio-economic development.

Beyond education, Alli reaffirmed his commitment to empowering local governments, improving grassroots governance and fostering unity within the Oyo APC ahead of the 2027 election.

Alli expressed confidence that ongoing reconciliation efforts among party stakeholders would position the APC for victory, urging members to remain united in pursuit of good governance and sustainable development for the people of Oyo State.
