Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has raised concerns over an alleged move to overturn the results of the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
Davido, who has been vocal about political developments in Osun State, made the allegation in a social media post on Saturday.
The singer claimed that Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Solomon Adeola and former House of Representatives member James Faleke were in Osogbo as part of an alleged effort to alter the election results.
“Sen Opeyemi Bamidele, Sen Olamilekan Adeola and Hon Faleke are making extra moves to upturn the results. They’re in Osogbo!” Davido wrote.
His comment came as collation of results from the governorship election continued across the state.
The election has attracted significant attention, with the ruling Accord Party and the opposition All Progressives Congress expected to closely contest the poll.
Davido, who hails from Osun State, has previously expressed strong interest in the state’s political affairs and openly backed Governor Ademola Adeleke, his uncle, during the 2022 governorship election.
However, the singer did not provide evidence to substantiate his claim about an attempt to overturn the results.
The identities of those named in the post and the context of their presence in Osogbo were not immediately clear.
