The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has claimed that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is currently ahead in the governorship election but warned the governor not to become complacent.
Ayodele made the remarks while commenting on the political developments surrounding the election, alleging that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was making moves to overturn the expected outcome.
According to the cleric, Adeleke was already in a strong position to win the poll, but he cautioned that the governor needed to remain vigilant until the final results were declared.
“Adeleke is already winning the election, but he should not sleep. APC has seen they are losing and are trying to do funny things,” Ayodele said.
His comments come amid heightened political activity in Osun, with both the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the APC intensifying their efforts to secure victory.
Ayodele, who has frequently made predictions on Nigerian political developments, urged Adeleke and his supporters not to take anything for granted
The governor is seeking another term in office, while the APC is also determined to reclaim the state.
With voting and the collation of results attracting close attention, political stakeholders and residents are expected to await the official declaration by the electoral authorities.
