The Nigeria Police Force has displayed a number of items allegedly recovered from the residence of a wanted suspect, Suri Ilupeju, following a search operation that culminated in the demolition of the property.
According to police authorities, the operation was carried out as part of ongoing investigations into the activities of the suspect, who had earlier been declared wanted over his alleged links to a robbery syndicate operating in parts of the country.
Security officials said the search was conducted after the suspect allegedly failed to honour police invitations.
During the operation, investigators reportedly recovered ammunition, assorted charms, political caps, branded campaign T-shirts and other materials believed to be relevant to the case.
The recovered items were later displayed to journalists as exhibits, with police authorities describing them as evidence obtained during the investigation.
Officials stated that the discoveries have provided additional leads in efforts to unravel the activities of the suspected criminal network and identify other individuals who may be connected to the case.
The police further disclosed that the building was demolished as part of actions taken during the investigation, while efforts continue to track down and arrest the wanted suspect.
The development has generated mixed reactions among residents of the area. While some commended security agencies for taking decisive action against suspected criminal elements, others called for strict adherence to due process and a comprehensive investigation into the allegations.
Reaffirming its commitment to tackling crime, the Nigeria Police Force urged members of the public to provide useful information that could assist in the arrest of Suri Ilupeju and other suspects still at large.
Authorities maintained that investigations are ongoing and assured that additional details would be made public as the case progresses.
