Residents of Ondo State have commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa over the planned collation of vacancies across ministries, departments and agencies ahead of a general public service recruitment exercise.

The Head of Service, Chief Segun Odusanya, disclosed the development during a briefing in Akure as part of activities marking the 2026 Public Service Week.
Starnews NG reports that the planned exercise has received widespread commendation from residents, many of whom described it as a welcome development that could provide opportunities for job seekers and bring relief to families across the state.
Reacting to a Starnews report on the development, Titilayo Akinmurele appealed to the governor to consider job seekers, writing, “Our best governor, please help me. I am looking for a job.”
Alademehin Akinwa simply wrote, “Aiyedatiwa is really doing well,” while Razaq Dapo Owamoyo thanked the governor for the initiative.
“Thank you, our amiable Governor. This move will serve as relief for many homes. God bless you, Mr Governor,” he wrote.
Other residents also praised the governor in strong terms. Olalubi Rufus described him as “the People’s Governor,” while Daramola Charles referred to him as “the Governor of the day.”
Olubunmi Elizabeth also commended Governor Aiyedatiwa, describing him as a “talk-and-do governor” and praying for God’s blessings upon him.
“I am lucky,” Abiola Fakinlede wrote in reaction to the announcement, while Ayorinde Francis expressed his support with the words, “Orimisan oooo, Aiyedatiwa”
Foluke Adedeji also welcomed the development, saying, “Our ease is here!” Another resident, Oluwafemi Olatunde, expressed appreciation to the governor and urged him to remember those who had lost their lives, while Awe Adenike appealed for attention to be given to affected SUBEB teachers.
The comments, which followed the publication on the Starnews Facebook page, reflected the expectations of residents who see the planned recruitment as an opportunity to address unemployment and support households facing economic difficulties.
Some residents, while praising the initiative, urged the government to ensure that the recruitment process is transparent, merit-based and accessible to all qualified applicants. They also called on the governor to prevent available vacancies from being distributed as personal or political slots.
The planned collation of vacancies is expected to provide the government with an accurate picture of staffing needs across the public service before the recruitment exercise begins, Starnews NG can report.
