Okitipupa-Irele 2027: Group Drums Support for ADC’s Omosuyi

The Ikale Unity Forum has urged the residents of Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency to rally behind Engr Olumide Omosuyi Abayomi, the House of Representatives candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.

This group comprises sons and daughters from the Ikale communities within the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, all of whom are invested in the socioeconomic and political advancement of the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the Forum, convener Ademola Omogoroye expressed concern that since the return to democracy in 1999, Ode Aye community has not had any elected representative in the Federal House of Representatives in Abuja. He emphasised that it is only fair to support the ADC and its candidate, who is well-positioned according to the zoning arrangement in the federal constituency.

“Many efforts and discussions have taken place recently, with various groups advocating for Ode Aye to produce the next House of Representatives member. Initially, the APC respected these calls, but they have now reversed their decision by replacing Dr Olumuyiwa Daramola from Ode Aye,” he stated.

“Given that the ADC has chosen its candidate from the most favoured community and the appropriate state constituency in Okitipupa Local Government, we feel it is imperative to declare our support for Engr Olumide Omosuyi Abayomi, the ADC candidate from Ode Aye, to ensure fairness and a balance of power.”

He continued, “It is essential that power returns to Okitipupa Local Government and to Ode Aye, the most favoured community. In contrast, the current representative, Hon. Olujimi Odimayo, has underperformed and does not deserve a second term. We also urge the political class and the electorate, in all their diversity, to support Engr Omosuyi.”

“This is the right time for action; we should not postpone what can be achieved today for uncertain promises in the future,” the statement concluded.
