Nigeria Police Begin Screening of Prospective Constables in Rivers State

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has commenced the physical and credential screening exercise for prospective police constables in Rivers State as part of the ongoing nationwide recruitment of new officers into the force. The exercise, coordinated in collaboration with the Police Service Commission (PSC), targets applicants who successfully completed the online registration phase of the 2025/2026 recruitment process.

The screening exercise began on Monday, March 9, 2026, and is taking place at designated centres across Rivers State alongside other states of the federation. Authorities confirmed that the process will continue until April 18, 2026, allowing eligible applicants to undergo verification of credentials, physical fitness assessments, and identity checks.

The recruitment drive aims to strengthen Nigeria’s internal security architecture by adding 50,000 new constables to the police force nationwide.

Police authorities urged applicants to appear with required documents including identification, educational certificates, and guarantor forms, stressing that the screening process is free of charge and strictly merit-based to ensure transparency and professionalism.
