Tensions in the Middle East have surged dramatically as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern warning to Iran and the international community, declaring that Israel’s military campaign is only beginning despite massive strikes already carried out across Iranian territory.
Israeli forces have launched waves of airstrikes targeting key military, intelligence, and nuclear-linked facilities across Iran, including operations over the capital, Tehran. Israeli officials claim their warplanes now operate with significant freedom in Iranian airspace, striking strategic locations believed to support missile production and proxy forces in the region.
According to Israeli military statements, recent strikes also hit aircraft and logistical hubs used by Iran’s elite Quds Force to transport weapons to allied militant groups such as Hezbollah.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said Israel would continue intensifying its military campaign, insisting that what Iran has experienced so far is only a fraction of what may come next. Israeli officials say their fighter jets have carried out extensive operations across Iranian targets, with additional attacks expected if Tehran continues its actions against Israel.
The escalating confrontation follows a series of retaliatory strikes between the two long-time rivals, marking one of the most direct and intense confrontations in their decades-long shadow war. Previous operations have targeted nuclear infrastructure, missile facilities, and high-ranking Iranian commanders, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.
Iran has vowed retaliation, warning that Israel will face severe consequences for the attacks. The exchange of missiles and airstrikes has already caused casualties and damage on both sides, while regional powers and global leaders warn that continued escalation could destabilize the wider Middle East.
Meanwhile, analysts say the conflict risks drawing in additional actors and expanding beyond the two nations, especially as strikes and missile interceptions have already been reported in several neighboring areas.
Despite international calls for restraint, Israel’s leadership maintains that the campaign will continue until what it describes as Iran’s military and nuclear threat is neutralized.
