The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has partnered with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development to strengthen food security and agricultural development across the country.

The collaboration was announced on May 7, 2026, as part of efforts to align national security initiatives with Nigeria’s agricultural transformation agenda. According to the NAF, the partnership will support the expansion of NAF Farms Limited through improved livestock production, mechanised farming, veterinary services, and specialised agricultural training.

The Chief of Civil-Military Relations, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, who represented the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, led the delegation during separate engagements with the two ministries in Abuja.

Officials from the Ministry of Livestock Development said the partnership would also support the implementation of the National Ranching Policy and the development of disease-free livestock zones aimed at improving Nigeria’s access to international meat markets.

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security also pledged support for integrating NAF Farms into national agricultural programmes involving improved seedlings, fertiliser access, and dry-season farming initiatives.
