Embattled American music mugul and producer Sean “Diddy” Combs is now scheduled for an earlier release from prison, with the US Federal Bureau of Prisons back-shifted his release date from June 4 to April 25, 2028, according to reports citing UNN and Page Six.
The adjustment comes as a result of Combs’ active participation in a specialized drug addiction rehabilitation program, which he joined in November 2025. A representative for the artist said, “Mr. Combs is serious about rehabilitation, actively participates in the program, and is dedicated to making positive changes.”
Combs’ prison sentence had previously been extended in November 2025 from May 8 to June 4, 2028, following alleged violations of prison rules. He is currently serving his sentence at Fort Dix Federal Prison in New Jersey and is pursuing an appeal of his four-year sentence.
His legal team filed the appeal last December, seeking either a complete overturn of the verdict or a reduction in the sentence, arguing that the original sentence was excessively harsh and infringed on his constitutional rights. The prosecution filed an objection to the appeal in February.
Combs had been sentenced to 50 months in prison on charges related to organizing prostitution and was expected to be transferred from a Brooklyn detention center to a federal facility.
The development comes amid ongoing media attention and legal discussions surrounding Combs’ sentence, including reports that former US President Donald Trump has been in talks with the artist’s legal team over a potential presidential pardon.
Combs’ early release reflects both his engagement with rehabilitation programs and the evolving legal proceedings surrounding his case, marking a potential shift in the timeline for the high-profile entertainer’s return to public life.
