Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned that several governors in Nigeria could end up in jail if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu loses power, claiming that the current administration is shielding many political office holders from corruption-related consequences.
The leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church made the statement in a message posted on his Facebook page, where he alleged that the survival of many governors is tied to the political stability of Tinubu’s government.
According to Ayodele, any unconstitutional removal of the president or loss of political control by the ruling government could expose hidden corruption and lead to severe legal actions against some governors.
He claimed that many of the affected governors could face prosecution and possible life imprisonment once the political protection around them disappears.
The cleric therefore urged governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress to remain loyal to the administration and work towards maintaining stability within the ruling party.
“The moment power is forcefully taken away, hidden corruption will be exposed and many governors will not escape prosecution,” he reportedly stated.
Ayodele also warned about alleged internal conspiracies within the ruling party, insisting that certain individuals are secretly working against the government from within.
The outspoken cleric, known for his frequent political prophecies and warnings, has repeatedly spoken on issues concerning governance, insecurity, and national politics.
In recent statements, he called on the Federal Government to intensify efforts against terrorism and uncover individuals allegedly sponsoring insecurity across the country.
His latest comments have continued to stir debate among political observers and supporters amid ongoing discussions surrounding governance, corruption, and political stability in Nigeria.
