Fresh tension appears to be brewing within the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State following the rise of the “No Haske – No Tinubu” movement, a pressure group protesting the outcome of the party’s governorship primary election.
The movement, led by Muawiya Muzzy, popularly known as Atikun Jimeta, has continued to push for what supporters describe as justice for Alhaji Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, whom they insist emerged as the preferred candidate during the primary process.
According to the group, many APC supporters across Adamawa remain dissatisfied with the conduct and outcome of the primary election, alleging that the wishes of party members were ignored despite what they described as massive support for Haske.
“At this critical moment, we cannot remain silent while injustice prevails. We are committed to standing firm for justice and ensuring that the APC does the right thing in Adamawa,” Atikun Jimeta reportedly stated.
The group also warned that unresolved grievances surrounding the primary election could negatively affect the party’s chances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Operating under the slogan “No Haske – No Tinubu,” the movement has continued to gain traction on social media and among political supporters within the state, increasing pressure on the party leadership to intervene and prevent further division.
Political observers believe the development could deepen internal cracks within the APC in Adamawa if urgent reconciliation efforts are not initiated to calm aggrieved supporters and restore unity within the party.
The controversy is the latest sign of growing political tension within state chapters of the ruling party as preparations for future elections continue to gather momentum.
