A Nigerian man caused a scene at an office of MTN Nigeria after expressing frustration over the rapid depletion of his 150GB one-month “unlimited” data plan.

According to reports, the customer, accompanied by a friend, visited the telecom outlet to file a complaint after the data bundle purchased for ₦60,000 was fully exhausted within six days.

He claimed the unexpected usage left him confused and dissatisfied, prompting him to immediately subscribe to another plan.

While at the office, the visibly upset subscriber demanded to know the remaining balance on his newly activated plan, which he said he had purchased just a day earlier.

However, staff at the outlet reportedly advised him to channel his complaint through the company’s official customer care lines, noting that such issues are typically handled through dedicated support systems.

The incident has since gained traction across social media platforms, triggering widespread debate among Nigerians.

Many users shared similar complaints about fast data consumption on so-called “unlimited” plans, while others pointed to fair usage policies often applied by telecom providers as a possible explanation.

Critics also raised concerns about transparency in how data is allocated and monitored, urging service providers to improve clarity in their offerings to avoid misleading subscribers.

The development highlights growing consumer concerns over data services in Nigeria, particularly as internet usage continues to rise across the country.
