Dear Hon. Odimayo Jimi,
You flagged off the construction of a 20-ward ultra-modern hospital in Ode Irele, the headquarters of Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State, in April 2025. Seven months later, despite widespread coverage on social media, there has been no visible progress on the hospital project. In November 2025, I personally conducted a site visit, which revealed a starkly different reality: there was no evidence of the promised ultra-modern hospital. Instead, we found a medical laboratory constructed by you near the community health centre in Ode Irele.
This raises several troubling questions:
Did the government actually approve the construction of an ultra-modern hospital, or was it a medical laboratory for the community? If a hospital was indeed approved, why have you opted to build a medical laboratory on the site instead? Conversely, if the medical laboratory was the intended project, why did you issue a statement on Sunday, 20th April 2025, claiming the flag-off of an ultra-modern hospital that would house various medical facilities?
Your actions raise significant concerns and suspicions regarding potential political manipulation for public support or possible collusion to play with our emotions in Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency.
Now, the same project you flagged off in April 2025 is being showcased to us in June 2026 by your media aide, stating that they are now doing the setting out. How can you celebrate the flag-off so elaborately in April last year, and now your aide has posted a video of the same project in June 2026, indicating that you are setting out the land to dig the same foundation you already claimed to have laid in April last year, where you were even captured in a photo and video laying blocks? Even the speech of the contractor then, Engineer Iyanu Onasanya, which he gave during the flag-off ceremony was documented by us.
Remember our conversation on WhatsApp when you accused me of spreading fake news? I told you to present the facts or sue me if what I wrote was false. There are reasons behind this, but I won’t discuss them here, nor do I intend to talk about them elsewhere.
I have much more to say regarding this project, but I will refrain from doing so, especially now that you have committed to moving forward with it. A similar project has been completed by the Federal Lawmaker representing Ileoluji/Okeigbo Federal Constituency, who has also executed numerous other projects since then.
This is our federal constituency, and we are closely monitoring anything that affects us. No one is after you; we simply seek to hold you accountable. While I may not be a lawmaker, I have served in the National Assembly as an aide to a senator, so I am familiar with the workings of governance. Please understand that no credible journalist will raise accusations and write without first conducting thorough investigations. Ultimately, the purpose of criticism is not to destroy but to ensure accountability.
Please complete this project as your other colleagues have done, and posterity will be kind to you.
