A House of Representatives candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kwara State, Abdulkadir Oba-Aluko, has congratulated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on his victory in the party’s presidential primary election, describing the exercise as transparent, credible, and reflective of democratic principles.
The commendation comes as the ADC seeks to project itself as a viable opposition platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Oba-Aluko praised the conduct of party officials and delegates during the nationwide primary, noting that the process demonstrated the ADC’s commitment to internal democracy and fairness.
He urged party members to unite behind Atiku’s candidacy and work collectively toward building a stronger opposition capable of challenging the ruling party in 2027.
The Kwara politician also called on supporters to remain focused on issues affecting ordinary Nigerians, including insecurity, unemployment, economic hardship, and governance reforms.
According to him, the successful conduct of the primary has strengthened confidence in the ADC’s ability to provide an alternative political direction for the country.
Atiku emerged as the ADC presidential candidate after the party conducted primaries across thousands of wards nationwide, a process party leaders described as a significant milestone in preparations for the 2027 election.
