North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has reiterated his country’s firm support for Russia, pledging continued backing as relations between both nations grow increasingly close.
In a statement carried by state media, Kim praised Russian President Vladimir Putin and expressed appreciation for the strengthening partnership between Pyongyang and Moscow, describing the alliance as deliberate and “unshakable.”
Ties between North Korea and Russia have deepened significantly since the Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine, with multiple reports indicating that Pyongyang has provided troops and weapons to support Russia’s military campaign.
In exchange, analysts suggest North Korea is receiving food supplies and access to advanced military technology from Moscow, further reinforcing the strategic partnership.
Kim’s remarks come shortly after his reappointment as head of the country’s top governing body, a move that consolidates his grip on power.
Meanwhile, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko is reportedly planning a visit to Pyongyang to strengthen bilateral cooperation, signaling a broader alignment among Russia’s allies.
The expanding alliance between Russia and North Korea continues to draw concern from Western nations, particularly as both countries intensify military and political collaboration.
