The 2026 President Beach Volleyball Cup concluded with great success in Kaduna State, where the Kano Pillars men’s team and the Kada Emeralds women’s team emerged victorious in their respective adult divisions after a week of intense competition.
In the U17 categories, the Kada Prince Boys and Diamond Spikers Girls secured bronze medals.
In a fiercely contested Men’s Final, the Kano Pillars defeated the Savannah Spikers with a score of 2-0, winning the first set 21-18 and the second set 21-13 to take home the bronze trophy.
In the Women’s Finals, the Kada Emeralds overcame Anista VC with a score of 2-1, winning the first set 26-28, the second set 21-13, and the final set 15-13.
The Diamond Spikers achieved a convincing straight-sets victory against the Kogi Spikers in the Girls’ U17 final, winning 2-0 with scores of 23-21 in the first set and 21-12 in the second.
The first set was closely contested, but the Diamond Spikers dominated the second set to secure their bronze medal.
In the Boys’ competition, the Kada Prince Boys triumphed over Philric in an exciting three-set match, winning 2-1.
The scores were 16-21 in the first set, 21-19 in the second, and 15-11 in the third. After losing the first set, the Kada Prince rallied to win the next two sets and claim the championship.
Organized by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, the tournament took place from February 12 to 17, 2026, at the prestigious Murtala Mohammed Square in Kaduna State.
It included senior men’s and women’s categories as well as Under-17 boys’ and girls’ divisions, showcasing the Federation’s commitment to grassroots development and pathways for elite performance.
As one of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation’s key initiatives, the President Beach Volleyball Cup aims to strengthen the country’s beach volleyball framework, enhance nationwide participation, discover and nurture new talents, and prepare athletes for continental and international competitions.
The week-long event brought together top players, emerging talents, coaches, technical officials, and sports stakeholders from across the nation.
Beyond the matches, the tournament aimed to encourage community involvement, boost tourism, and increase public interest in volleyball development.
Additionally, the competition served as a platform for identifying talent for future national team selections, reinforcing Nigeria’s ambition to become a competitive force in beach volleyball across Africa and beyond.
