Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya has formally taken charge of the Nigerian Bar Association, becoming the 33rd president of the umbrella body for Nigerian lawyers.

Badejo-Okusanya was inaugurated on Friday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, during a ceremony attended by senior members of the legal profession and other dignitaries.

Her assumption of office followed the completion of Afam Osigwe, SAN’s tenure as NBA president. Osigwe administered the oath of office to his successor before formally handing over the leadership of the association.

As part of the transition, the outgoing president presented Badejo-Okusanya with a handover note containing information to guide her as she begins her tenure.

While addressing the new NBA president, Osigwe said, “This is your handover note. A more comprehensive one will be given to you later. I hereby now out.”
