An aspirant in the governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State, Abdulrahman Haske, has reacted to the outcome of the party’s primary election, declaring that his political journey is “far from over.”
Haske made the statement shortly after the APC concluded its governorship primary election, which produced Ahmed Tijjani Galadima, popularly known as TAG, as the party’s flagbearer for the 2027 governorship election.
The emergence of Galadima has continued to generate mixed reactions across Adamawa State, with some supporters of rival aspirants alleging that the process was influenced by powerful political interests.
Some party faithful and residents claimed the APC candidate was allegedly imposed through the influence of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, although no official evidence has been provided to support the allegations.
Galadima, who many political observers say has less grassroots popularity and political visibility in the state compared to Haske, reportedly secured victory across the 21 local government areas of Adamawa to emerge winner of the keenly contested exercise.
Reacting to the outcome, Haske acknowledged the decision of the party delegates but expressed disappointment over the result, while urging his supporters across the state to remain peaceful, calm, and law-abiding.
According to him, the outcome of the primary does not mark the end of his political ambition or commitment to the development of Adamawa State.
“This journey is far from over,” Haske reportedly told supporters in a message circulated shortly after the primary election.
The APC aspirant also appreciated members of his campaign organization, political associates, youth groups, women supporters, and party loyalists who stood by him throughout the consultation and primary process.
Despite rejecting the outcome of the primary, Haske emphasized the need for unity within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections, warning supporters against actions capable of causing division within the party.
Political observers in the state say Haske’s reaction appears aimed at preserving his political structure and reassuring supporters following the tense and closely watched primary contest.
The Adamawa APC primary has continued to attract significant attention, with stakeholders closely monitoring post-primary developments and possible political realignments ahead of the next election cycle.
