Burna Boy received more than birthday wishes from his mother, Bose Ogulu, as the Grammy-winning artiste marked his 35th birthday.
During a private celebration with close friends and family on July 2, Bose Ogulu, who also serves as Burna Boy’s manager, encouraged her son to settle down, get married and start a family.
In a video shared on Snapchat by one of the singer’s associates, Burna Boy was asked to make a birthday wish. The Afrobeats star wished for good health and continued prosperity.
His mother, however, playfully interrupted, urging him to also wish for “a good wife and children,” prompting laughter and smiles from those present at the celebration.
Burna Boy has previously spoken openly about his decision to remain unmarried and not have children at this stage of his life.
In an earlier interview, the award-winning singer explained that his demanding international music career leaves him with little time to devote to family life. He also said he does not want to have children outside marriage or become a father unless he can be fully present to raise them.
The birthday celebration has since sparked reactions from fans, with many sharing their thoughts on Bose Ogulu’s heartfelt advice to her son.
