A former Commissioner for Agriculture and one-time Commissioner for Environment in Yobe State, Alhaji Musa Maina Dumburi, is dead. He was 70 years old.
Dumburi, a native of Bursari Local Government Area, passed away on Saturday. His death was confirmed by the Senator representing Yobe East, Musa Mustapha, in a heartfelt statement posted on his official Facebook page.
“The news of the sudden death of the former Commissioner of Agriculture and one-time Commissioner of Environment, Alh. Musa Maina Dumburi greatly saddens my heart,” the Senator wrote.
Senator Mustapha revealed that the late Dumburi served as Commissioner for Agriculture during the administration of former Governor Ibrahim Geidam. He described the deceased as “a brilliant agriculturist, hardworking, dependable and highly resourceful technocrat.”
According to the lawmaker, the late commissioner remained deeply committed to the development of Yobe State throughout his life, with a particular focus on the agricultural sector.
“Even at the age of 70, late Alh. Musa Dumburi exuded an unparalleled passion for the progress of Yobe State, and most particularly in the agricultural sector, where he had an accomplished career and held several positions that had direct bearing on farming activities in Yobe State,” the statement added.
Senator Mustapha extended his condolences to the bereaved family, friends, political associates, and the entire people of Yobe State. He prayed for Allah’s infinite mercy to forgive the soul of the deceased and grant him eternal rest in Aljannat Firdaus.
