Infantino’s comments were made in a high‑profile interview on March 9, 2026 as global football prepares for the expanded 48‑team event co‑hosted across the United States, Mexico and Canada.

In the interview with AS, the FIFA president dismissed worries that geopolitical tensions (particularly those disrupting airspace and causing visa complications) would dampen excitement.
