Afrobeats star and rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, set the tone for the opening of Big Brother Naija Season 11 with a vibrant live performance as the reality television show officially got underway on Sunday.
The award-winning entertainer thrilled the audience with two songs during the opening ceremony, delivering an energetic performance that ushered viewers into the latest edition of Nigeria’s biggest reality television programme.
One of the songs performed was an original composition credited to legendary Juju musician Sir Shina Peters, drawing cheers from the live audience.
The new season, themed “Show Ya Self,” promises weeks of entertainment, competition and drama as contestants battle for the coveted grand prize worth ₦160 million.
Long-time host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returned to anchor the show, taking to the stage to welcome viewers and introduce the new season before the unveiling of housemates began.
Organisers say this year’s edition will feature contestants with diverse personalities, lifestyles and ambitions, setting the stage for intense rivalries, friendships, strategic gameplay and memorable moments inside Biggie’s House.
Falz, who has built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading entertainers, began his music journey while in secondary school as part of a group known as The School Boys before launching his professional career in 2009.
He rose to national prominence with the hit single “Marry Me,” featuring Poe and Yemi Alade, and has since established himself as a successful rapper, songwriter and actor with several award-winning projects to his credit.
