German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt has paid tribute to Nigerian football legend Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha by featuring him prominently in the launch campaign for its 2026/27 away jersey, celebrating one of the club’s most iconic former players. The gesture has been widely applauded by football fans as recognition of Okocha’s enduring legacy in Frankfurt and world football.
Okocha, who played for Eintracht Frankfurt between 1992 and 1996, remains one of the most gifted players to have worn the club’s colours.
Renowned for his dazzling dribbling, creativity and memorable goals, the former Super Eagles captain won the admiration of supporters and established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s greatest entertainers.
His unforgettable solo goal against Karlsruher SC in 1993 is still regarded as one of the finest in German football history.
The club said Okocha’s inclusion in the jersey launch reflects his lasting influence on Eintracht Frankfurt’s identity and the special bond he continues to share with its supporters.
The newly unveiled away kit also revives the club’s iconic 1980s and 1990s crest, an era closely associated with Okocha’s brilliance on the pitch.
