The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has offered whistleblowers between 2.5 per cent and 5 per cent of recovered assets for credible information that leads to the recovery of Nigerian monetary and non-monetary assets allegedly stolen and hidden abroad.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, announced the incentive on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, while delivering a lecture at the 43rd International Symposium on Economic Crime in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
He urged individuals with actionable intelligence on assets taken out of Nigeria to come forward and assist investigators in tracing and recovering them.
Olukoyede said the commission has recovered and forfeited cash and assets worth more than $500 million to the Nigerian government since he assumed office. He attributed the recoveries to investigations, judicial support and credible intelligence.
