Bauchi Man Names Newborn After President Tinubu

A young man in Bauchi State has attracted attention after naming his newborn baby after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying he took the decision because he was satisfied with what he described as the President’s fairness and leadership.

“That’s why I named my newborn baby after him,” the man reportedly said, explaining that the name was his way of honouring the President. However, the decision has triggered mixed reactions, with some people mocking the father and questioning his choice amid the economic difficulties many Nigerians are facing.

There have also been claims on social media that some women did not attend the naming ceremony because of the political significance of the child’s name. Despite all the critism the man was still proud and happy with his decision.

The incident has nevertheless sparked a wider conversation about how political loyalties are increasingly finding their way into personal and cultural occasions, with some Nigerians viewing the naming as a show of support for Tinubu, while others see it as an unusual political gesture.
