The Nigeria Police Force has advised Nigerians to avoid confronting criminals during dangerous situations, urging citizens to prioritise their safety above all else.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, gave the advice during an interview on a television programme, where he said members of the public should remain calm if they encounter armed or violent criminals.
According to Hundeyin, struggling or fighting back could put lives at risk, stressing that the police can always pursue and arrest offenders afterward.
He said the police have continued to record successes in tackling criminal activities, including the arrest of members of the notorious ‘One-Chance’ syndicates operating in parts of Abuja.
Hundeyin disclosed that recent arrests include suspects linked to the killing of a lawyer in the Federal Capital Territory, adding that the victim’s phone has been recovered as part of ongoing investigations.
