Popular Nigerian music star David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, is confronting a ₦1 billion legal demand from Mrs Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, a Lagos‑based lawyer representing Sophia Momodu in their highly publicised custody battle, over alleged harassment, threats to life, cyberbullying and defamation. The demand was outlined in a pre‑action notice dated 24 February 2026 and reported in Lagos on 2 March 2026.
Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, acting on behalf of Mrs Enedah, claims that during a hearing in Suit No: LD/1587PMC/2024 at the Lagos State High Court on 12 February 2026, Davido behaved “in a manner wholly unbecoming of a litigant,” becoming aggressive and verbally abusive towards his opponent’s counsel. The letter further alleges that although the court directed him to apologise in open court, he refused, and subsequently social media posts attributed to him triggered harassment and threats against Mrs Enedah.
The pre‑action notice demands issuance of a clear public apology, retraction of defamatory statements and compensation of ₦1 billion for the alleged emotional distress and reputational harm. Failure to comply within seven days will see the matter formally entered in the High Court of Lagos State. The dispute adds another legal dimension to the ongoing custody conflict between Davido and Sophia Momodu, whose daughter Imade Adeleke has been at the centre of public attention.
